Food Allergy in the Elderly

Question
I am a researcher and educator at the University of Beira Interior, Portugal. We are now implementing research on aging subjects. I haven't found information on food allergy in the elderly. Can results on food allergy available for adults be transposed to elderly patients? Thank you in advance.

This is an excellent question. I am unaware of any data regarding food allergy in the elderly. I think it would be very important to determine whether the limited data in adults can be extrapolated to the elderly population. I would strongly encourage you to explore this area.
