Short-term Research Fellowship Award
Congratulations to Dr. Silvia Sanchez-Garcia from Fundacion Jimenez Diaz, Madrid, Spain, who has been awarded a WAO Short-Term Research Fellowship to study with Dr. Hugh Sampson at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. Dr. Sanchez-Garcia is studying the role of tropomyosin in patients allergic to shrimp; during her period in Dr. Sampson's laboratory Dr. Sanchez-Garcia will make a comparison of sera from Spanish and U.S. populations to discover whether differences exist between the shrimp allergens recognized by the two groups of patients.
