New WAO Website Design
If you have visited the WAO website recently, you have noticed its new design. The goals of the WAO Web Editorial Board in updating the design was to showcase the most important features and sections of the website as well as to promote WAO’s mission. They also wanted the website to be both attractive and easy to navigate. More enhancements are in process as well, so visit the WAO website often!

Learn About HAE, Talk About HAE at WAC 2011
Did you know that people living with hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare, potentially fatal swelling disorder, can go up to 10 years without an accurate diagnosis? In an effort to help improve the time to an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management for patients with HAE, the WAO has partnered with other specialist organizations in the program, “HAE: Learn About It, Talk About It.” Visit booth #1105 at WAC to become part of the movement to improve HAE patient care, or visit www.LetsTalkHAE.com for educational resources on HAE and to find a U.S. HAE-treating allergist/immunologist to refer a potential patient.
The program is supported by ViroPharma Incorporated.
Visit the New Allergic Rhinitis Working Group Website
Access to a broad range of information on allergic rhinitis is available in a new online repository launched by the WAO Allergic Rhinitis Working Group in September 2011. Online lectures, interactive case reports, slide presentations, audio interviews with experts, educational synopses, and reports of findings from the “Landmark Surveys of Nasal Allergy Sufferers,” are accessible at www.worldallergy.org/allergic_rhinitis.
Coming soon in 2012! The Working Group is also developing two new online learning modules for release in 2012 based on case histories. In a self-paced interactive program, visitors will be able to move through the case histories and follow links to a number of resources available online on topics of adult and pediatric allergic rhinitis. This will be a free WAO program with universal on-line access.
WAO’s Allergic Rhinitis Working Group website is sponsored through an unrestricted educational grant from Nycomed: A Takeda Company.
