World Allergy Training School (WATS)
25-26 November 2013
On 25 and 26 November, the Emerging Societies Program (ESP), a joint initiative of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI), along with the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) and the Zimbabwe Allergy Society, will be holding a World Allergy Training School (WATS) at the Bronte Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Training School will include a full day of sessions on 25 November and a morning of sessions on 26 November. The Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Symposium put on by the Zimbabwe Allergy Society will follow on the afternoon of 26 November and all day on 27 November.

WAO Junior Members Session -
On Saturday, 14 December from 3:30-4:15 pm the WAO Junior Members will hold a Practical Course on Immunotherapy. Dr. Alexander Díaz Rodríguez will speak about the “Current Status and Future Perspectives of Immunotherapy in Latin America and Cuba”. To follow, Dr. Ves Dimov will talk on “Use of New Technology to Improve Utilization and Adherence to Immunotherapy”. We hope you are able to attend!

WAO Leaders Receive Prestigious Awards
WAO Board Members Dr. Michael Blaiss and Dr. Sandra González Díaz were recognized by the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) during their 2013 Annual Meeting, on 7-12 November, in Baltimore, Maryland.
||Dr. Blaiss received the ACAAI’s highest honor: the Gold Headed Cane Award, in recognition of his integrity and high standards of excellence. The award serves as an inspiration to younger doctors and encourages them in family, social, civil, religious and professional life to cultivate character that earns the respect and good will of colleagues and the profession at large.
