About WAO Meetings

World Allergy Congresses (WAC)

The World Allergy Organization (WAO) held the
first World Allergy Congress (WAC) in 1951 in
Zurich, Switzerland, and is now held every two
years. Each Congress attracts between 2,000
and 5,000 experts and scientists working and
interested in the fields of allergy, immunology
and other related fields. In most cases, WAO
partners with a regional or national Member
Society to host the Congress.

WAO International Scientific Conferences (WISC)

To advance its mission as a global resource and
advocate in the field of allergy, advancing excellence in clinical care through education,
research and training, the World Allergy
Organization (WAO) launched the WAO
International Scientific Conference (WISC) in
Dubai, UAE in 2010. WISC is a theme-based
Scientific Conference alternating with and
complementing WAO’s main biennial scientific
meeting, the World Allergy Congress (WAC).

Symposia

The WAO Symposium on Immunotherapy and Biologics was a 2 day meeting that summarized what is scientifically known, explored cutting-edge research and recognized the unmet needs of Immunotherapy and Biologics. Simultaneous tracks on Biologics and Immunotherapy were offered to attendees.
