What new findings or insights can attendees look forward to in your session?
We have identified a third receptor for the cysteinyl leukotrienes, GPR99 or CysLT3, that resides in the epithelium of the nose and lung. It is selective for LTE4 and mediates mucin release from the goblet cells. The CysLT3R can be activated by cysLTs from submucosal mast cells in the airways, linking two innate pathways in a tissue response to the allergen, Alternaria.
