The objectives of this Association are to:

1. Promote the exchange and progress of knowledge on Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology in the Asia Pacific region

2. Promote the study, prevention and treatment of Allergology, Asthma and Immune-mediated diseases, with particular emphasis on problems specific to this region

3. Promote exchange in training programs between member countries in this region.

4. Promote cooperation in clinical and basic research on Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology in this region.

5. Encourage, assist and coordinate the development of programs of public information and education in Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology.

6. Cooperate with other international organizations in the study of Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology.

7. Foster dissemination of this knowledge through international congresses on Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology and by other means.

The Association began as the Asian Pacific Society of Allergy and Immunology (APSAI) in 1989 with the objective of promoting cooperation in the field of allergy and immunology in all countries in the Asian Pacific Region. The name of the organization was changed to the Asian Pacific Federation of Allergology and Immunology Societies (APFAIS) at a meeting in Bali in 1989, with the drawing up of a full constitution.

Subsequent history is as follows:
1992 1st Scientific meeting of APFAIS (Bangkok, Thailand).
The name of the society was changed to Asian Pacific Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (APAACI)
1995 2nd APAACI Congress, Taipei, Taiwan
1998 3rd APAACI Congress, Manila, Philippines
2000 4th APAACI Congress (in conjunction with ICACI), Sydney, Australia
2002 5th APAACI Congress, Seoul, Korea
