2011-2013 WAO House of Delegates

REMINDER: the WAO House of Delegates Meeting will take place on 7 December 2011, during the XXII World Allergy Congress (WAC 2011) in Cancún, México, 4-8 December. Officially appointed 2011-2013 Delegates will receive the meeting invitation and additional details later this fall. This will be a closed (by invitation only) WAO meeting.

Specialty & Training Survey – Follow-up to Undergraduate Training Position Paper
To prepare for the World Allergy Congress 2011 Session on Undergraduate Training, the WAO Specialty & Training Council has initiated a brief survey to gather new global data on how WAO Member Societies have utilized the WAO Position Paper, Recommendations for Competency in Allergy Training for Undergraduates Qualifying as Medical Practitioners published in August 2009.

Member Society Presidents and Primary Contacts will have received an email request to complete the electronic survey by 22 September 2011. If your society leader has not received the email request, please contact Kate Kirchner, at We greatly appreciate your contribution and look forward to a constructive presentation in Cancún. WAO White Book on Allergy – Thank You!

Thank you to all WAO Member Societies that provided data to be included in the updated version of the WAO White Book on Allergy.

A major purpose of the WAO White Book on Allergy is to serve as a tool in the ongoing advocacy of allergy service provision. Your contribution to this data is greatly appreciated, and strongly influences our report on the global state of allergy.

WAO-CSA Joint Symposium, China, 15-16 October 2011
WAO is honored to collaborate with the Chinese Society of Allergology (CSA) for the first WAO/CSA Joint Symposium in conjunction with the Biannual Scientific Meeting of the CSA in Chengdu, China 15-16 October 2011. New Online at WAO! Allergic Rhinitis Working Group Website
Access to a broad range of information on allergic rhinitis is available in a new online repository launched by the WAO Allergic Rhinitis Working Group on 15 September. Online lectures, interactive case reports, slide presentations, audio interviews with experts, and educational synopses, and reports of findings from the “Landmark Surveys of Nasal Allergy Sufferers,” are accessible at The Working Group is also developing two new online learning modules for release in 2012 based on case histories. In a self-paced interactive program, visitors will be able to move through the case histories and follow links to a number of resources available online on the topic of allergic rhinitis.
