Patient Awareness

1st WAO Patient & Public Forum and Children's Painting Competition

The WAO Patient & Public Forum and Children’s Painting Competition was an opportunity for patient organizations to network and share their experiences in the field of allergy, asthma and immunology allowing for development of patient education and advocacy worldwide.  Likewise, the Children’s Painting Competition brought over 90 local students and their parents to the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills, India.  It was a great success, spreading awareness on allergies in children worldwide.

World Allergy Week: Anaphylaxis - When Allergies Can Be Severe and Fatal

An important part of the initiative of World Allergy Week 2014 is to advocate for the safety and quality of life of patients who suffer from anaphylaxis. WAO was pleased this year to have collaborated in outreach activities with several patient advocacy organizations from around the world. These organizations helped WAO in raising awareness for this year’s theme: Anaphylaxis - When Allergies Can Be Severe and Fatal. We encourage you to explore the information about anaphylaxis and the services and programs available on their websites.
