Which is the best approach for a male patient with dry cough and occasional dyspnea for 6 months?

The patient is 50 years old with no history of allergies. He smokes 10 packs of cigarettes per year, is overweight and has been using an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor for a year plus Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) on Demand (OD). There are no other relevant findings or history.
