Hosting Seminars & Conferences
The Seminars & Conferences program invites Member Societies, Regional Organization Members, Affiliate Organization Members and Associate Member Societies to apply to host a WAO Invited Lecturer.
Responsibilities of the Host Society
WAO member societies may bid for an international speaker or panel of speakers to give scientific or clinical presentation(s) on a topic of the society's choice, at the society's annual meeting. The bids will be assessed by a selection panel established by WAO's Education Council. Applications will be graded against a number of criteria, and societies receiving the highest number of points will be awarded a Seminars & Conferences program grant.
Applications will be graded on:

Anticipated number of attendees at the Annual Meeting
-
Caliber of the proposed speaker(s)
-
Suitability of proposed speaker(s) for the proposed presentations(s)
-
How well the proposed topic(s) fit into the overall meeting program
- Frequency of previously hosted WAO programs in the past (e.g. GLORIA, World Allergy Forum)
Criteria to Host a WAO Invited Lectureship:

WAO Member Society in good standing at the time of application.
Member societies in good standing will have submitted their yearly Annual Activity Report and paid their dues (if applicable). -
Offer a Plenary Session placement on the first or second day of the annual meeting

WAO must be acknowledged on the front cover of the printed program and on the program pages relating to presentations by the WAO Invited Lecturer(s)

The Society must provide free registration, accommodation(s), meals and local transfers to the WAO Invited Lecturer(s)
Responsibilities of the World Allergy Organization
WAO will be responsible for providing an honorarium to the invited lecturer(s) to cover airfare and travel costs.
Confirmation of receipt of application will be given within seven days and WAO will inform applicants of the outcome of the selection process within six weeks.
