Dana Wallace, MD
Dana V. Wallace, M.D., is associate clinical professor at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Fla., and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fl. She is a private practitioner in allergy, asthma and clinical immunology in Fort Lauderdale, FL and is associated with the Florida Center for Allergy and Asthma Care.
She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine and completed a residency at Lenox Hill Hospital and a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Roosevelt Hospital. She is board certified in pediatrics and allergy/immunology.
Dr. Wallace is on the World Allergy Organization Board of Directors (2012-2015), the past president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), and has received the ACAAI Distinguished Service Award (2009) and the ACAAI Woman in Allergy Award (2008). She chairs the Emerging Societies/ World Allergy Training School Committee and serves on the World Allergy Organization Editorial Board as a co-editor of the “Ask the Expert” section. Dr. Wallace has been on the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters (AAAAI, ACAAI, & JCAAI joint task force) since 2005 and was chief editor of the 2008 “The Diagnosis and Management of Rhinitis: An updated Practice Parameter.” She is currently the ACAAI representative to the American Academy of Otolaryngology Association’s Allergic Rhinitis guideline development multi-disciplinary task force.
Dr Wallace is the ACAAI Website Associate Editor, has been a Nationwide Asthma Screening Program coordinator since 2000; and is on the ACAAI Rhinitis and Sinusitis committee. Having chaired the Drugs and Anaphylaxis Committee for many years, she remains an active member. She is ACAAI’s representative on the Health Level 7 (HL7) Clinical Interoperability Council; has served on the Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Manuscript Review Committee since 2005; and is on the Allergy and Asthma Proceedings editorial review board. She has been an active volunteer with the Asthma and Allergy Network, Mothers of Asthmatics with their national educational and asthma screening efforts.
She is Immediate-Past President of the Broward County Medical Association, is on its executive committee and served as its Delegate to the Florida Medical Association since the 1980’s. Dr. Wallace is past president of the Florida Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Association, and co-chair of Women Physicians of BCMA committee. She has served on the Florida Medical Association Council on Medical Education and Science, and was a member of the Florida State Board of Medical Examiners, 1979-84.
