2012 Congress of the Asia Pacific Association of Pediatric Allergy, Respirology, and Immunology (APAPARI)

The 2012 Congress of the Asia Pacific Association of Pediatric Allergy, Respirology, and Immunology (APAPARI) in Taiwan, 19-21 October, was extremely successful with over 850 attendees from 17 countries attending. WAO was delighted to host a Symposium which consisted of Professors Ruby Pawankar, Lanny Rosenwasser, and Motohiro Ebisawa.

Panamanian Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology's National Allergy and Clinical Immunology Congress

Prof. Noel Rodriguez-Perez lecturing at the Panamanian Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology’s National Allergy and Clinical Immunology Congress held 27-28 September in Panama. Approximately 240 people attended the Congress with representation from 9 provinces and 5 indigenous regions.

Update on Food Allergy, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Symposium presented at AAPI Conference

Prof. Ruby Pawankar, (WAO President), Dr. Stanley Fineman (ACAAI President), and Dr. Dana Wallace (WAO Board Member) presented an Update on Food Allergy, Anaphylaxis and Asthma at the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Conference in Long Beach, California (USA) on Saturday, 30 June 2012.

WAO-Venezuelan Society Lecture on Small Airways Disease

UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD)

WAO President, Professor Ruby Pawankar, MD, PhD, speaking at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) 23 April – 4 May 2012 in New York City addressed members of parliament, Ambassadors, representatives of various country missions to the United Nations, academia, civil society and the staff of various UN agencies, on the the need for guidelines, global partnerships, and innovative strategies to reduce the burden of non-communicable disease, especially allergies and asthma.

WAO-JSA Lecture on Anaphylaxis

WAO formed the WAO-JSA lecture Series with the Japanese Society of Allergology (JSA) in 2011. At the 61st Annual Meeting of the JSA on 10 November, 2011, Dr. Philip Lieberman lectured on “Advances in Our Understanding of Anaphylaxis.” View the lecture.
