Group Activities
AAN-MA helps all people affected by
allergies and asthma.
Mission: To eliminate morbidity and mortality due to asthma
and allergies through education, advocacy, community outreach, and
research.
As the consumer voice, AAN-MA:
- delivers timely, accurate, and
practical information
- links patients and families to decision
makers within the health-care and pharmaceutical industries, schools,
and governments
- conducts and stimulates research on
behalf of patients and their families
- increases patient and public awareness
through educational resources
- is a vehicle for improving patient
access to specialty care
AAN-MA supports:
- patient access to specialty-care
services and the full range of pharmaceutical treatment options
- school students’ rights to carry
inhaled medications on their person to, during, and from school each day
- school nurses in every public and state
supported school
- non-smoking policies in all schools
(including colleges) and in school activities
- A smooth transition from CFC to non-CFC
forms of inhaled medications
AAN-MA has earned 15 medical
recognition awards
- is called upon by members of Congress
as an advisor, conducts communications-training programs for medical
professionals and asthma awareness programs for inner-city patients
- works with medical professional
organizations on behalf of patients, researches
- develops informational services for
patients
- has won four Web awards
