WAO and OPELLA Announce Five-Year Partnership in Allergy Care at WAC 2026

 

WAO and Opella jointly announced at the 2026 JSA/WAO/APAPARI Joint Congress in Kyoto our five-year global partnership to help improve allergy care for millions worldwide.*

For many people living with allergies, care starts long before they reach a specialist. GPs, pediatricians, pharmacists and nurses are often on the frontline, helping people recognize, understand and manage their allergies. That’s where we want to make a difference.

By bringing together expertise within the WAO global network of allergy societies with Opella's scientific expertise and leadership in self-care, we aim to strengthen evidence-based education, frontline HCP support and health literacy, helping improve the recognition and management of allergic diseases.

And we’re getting started with two important initiatives:

  • The WAO–Opella Award for Innovative Solutions in Everyday Allergy Care, recognizing innovation where everyday allergy care happens.
  • Our first joint Self-care in Allergy Report, coming soon, focused on stronger awareness, earlier action and better support for people living with allergies.

Better science. Better education. More confident healthcare professionals. And better everyday allergy care for the people they support.

We are thrilled to share this initative with the international allergy and clinical immunology community.
