President's Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are just a few weeks away from the XXIV World Allergy Congress (WAC 2015)! WAO, together with the Korean Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology (KAACI) and the Asia Pacific Association of Pediatric Allergy, Respirology and Immunology (APAPARI), are looking forward to hosting all of you in Seoul, Korea on 14-17 October. There is still time to register if you haven’t had the chance yet, and all of the information you need is available at www.worldallergy.org/wac2015.

WAC 2015 will offer over 100 sessions, including keynote lectures, symposia, plenaries, postgraduate courses, and many other programs delivered by a faculty of over 150 experts. This Congress will have something for everyone. We are also happy to share that around 800 abstracts were accepted, and over 25 travel grants have been awarded. Abstracts will be presented throughout the Congress in Poster and Oral Abstract Sessions we encourage you to attend these sessions to learn about some of the new research that is happening around the world. The WAO Collaborative on Severe Asthma (COSA) is pleased to announce the launching of their website at www.worldallergy.org/severe-asthma. The web pages house a growing searchable database of scientific article references that are related to severe asthma. The references include convenient links to abstracts and articles that are available online. Dr Christina Ciaccio, Web Content Editor for the COSA pages, conducts a literature survey every month and posts summaries and article references. You can find a searchable list of WAO online educational resources. You can also view where the COSA speakers will be presenting new information. The WAO Collaborative on Severe Asthma aims to provide a global platform for physicians and other healthcare professionals around the world to access the most relevant scientific, clinical, and educational resources on severe asthma.
