Zeinab Awad El-Sayed, MD, PhD
Zeinab A El-Sayed, MD, PhD, is professor of pediatrics, Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (PAI) Unit, Children’s Hospital, Ain Shams University, Cairo. She is a board member of the Egyptian Society of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (ESPAI), and associate-editor of the Egyptian Journal of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. She is editor of the ESPAI website. She serves as member of the standing committee for promotion of pediatric faculty members of the Egyptian Universities to professor degree (2013 to present).
She is member of the board of directors of the World Allergy Organization and member of the editorial board of the World Allergy Organization Journal since 2013. She is an affiliate member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology since 2007.
She was granted a Distinction Award from the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research (1997). She received an award from Ain Shams University for international publication. She was also granted the title “The Ideal Doctor of Ain Shams University Hospitals” in 1983.
She is a coordinator of the World Health Organization project on surveillance for immunodeficiency-related vaccine derived polio viruses (iVDPV). She cooperates with the Egyptian Ministry of Health in countrywide training programs on primary immunodeficiency.
She has 57 publications in local and international periodicals and has co-supervised 62 Masters’ and Doctorate theses in pediatric allergy and immunology. She shares in international, regional, and national congresses in allergy/immunology and in pediatrics and as a member of the organizing committee of the annual International Congress of ESPAI.
