Junior Members News – January 2015

Congratulations to WAO Junior Members for the great participation in WISC 2015!

Over 2,300 participants from different countries took the opportunity of improve their knowledge in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at WISC held on 6-9th December 2014 in the sun soaked Rio de Janeiro.

Practical Courses

The WISC 2014 Scientific Program included engaging and well-attended Practical Courses (PCs) in which we had active involvement of WAO JM from all around the world, working in collaboration with many allergy experts. In a friendly atmosphere, the WAO JM demonstrated their practical skills as speakers and instructors in hands-on sessions and technology demonstration of important topics in the allergy/immunology field.  It was a great chance to exchange experiences, update the knowledge and network! On behalf of the WAO Junior Members Steering Group, we would like to thank all the participants for the collaboration and support for the WAO JM Practical Courses.

Poster Awards

Many abstracts have been submitted by juniors, selected by the Scientific Program Committee, and presented during this special event. World allergy experts evaluated the posters during the meeting, and the authors received recognition and awards. The WAO Junior Member Abstract reception was held in Poster Area of the Exhibition Hall.

WAO Travel Grants

27 Juniors received WAO Travel Grants and the Outstanding Abstracts Awardees included 4 Juniors.  Congratulations!

Happy New Year!

As 2015 is starting, we renew energies and many plans and ideas are schedule for the upcoming year. More than raising the identity of WAO JM, we plan to work in a coordinated continuous strategy to ensure the involvement of JM in the many WAO activities. Meanwhile, we may join forces with JM from many Allergy Academies constructing a huge platform to increase the visibility of our specialty by strengthening a good quality of education and formation.

We would like to wish all WAO Junior Members a happy and successful year, with achievements and full of good news!
