Speaker Highlights

Anna Nowak-Wegrzyn, MD, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, NY, USA

What do you like about speaking/attending WAO congresses and conferences?
I enjoy the international mix of speakers and attendees that provides a truly diverse, global perspective on allergic diseases.

What are you looking forward to at the WAO 2015 Symposium?
I am excited to attend a meeting focused on the microbiome and hope to get new ideas for my own research.

What sets the WAO 2015 Symposium apart from other meetings?
A more intimate setting with highly focused agenda and outstanding international faculty.

What’s important information about the topic you are speaking on (SLIT and EPIT Immunotherapy)?
These are two alternatives to oral immunotherapy that offer unique advantages, such as patients, convenience, superior safety profile, and low rate of systemic adverse reactions. EPIT in particular attracts a lot of attention as the non-ingestion, non-oral route is attractive to many patients who prefer to wear a patch rather than ingest the food they are allergic to.
