Call for Abstracts Now Open!

The World Allergy Organization invites you to submit an abstract for the WAO Symposium on Food and Respiratory Allergies.

Please read carefully the Abstract Guidelines below before submitting an abstract. Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through the online form.

It is the author's responsibility to submit a correctly edited and accurate abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific statements/data will be reproduced as typed by the author. Abstracts will be rejected if they contain no data or if the English is unacceptable. All Presenting Authors will receive detailed presentation guidelines after their abstract has been accepted.

Acknowledgement of receipt of the abstract submission will be sent to the Presenting Author's email address upon submission. In addition, all communication about the Scientific Program, acceptance and presentation will be communicated using the Presenting Author's email.

Abstract Guidelines

Accepted abstracts will be presented in thematic poster sessions.

• The abstract shall be submitted only via the online abstract form.
• The abstract must be written and presented in English.
• The abstract must contain original data and meet international ethics standards.
• The abstract length for each section cannot exceed 100 words.
• The abstract title cannot exceed 20 words and only use the first letter should be in capital letters (abbreviations will not be used) with no full stop (or period) at the end and no underlining.
• The names should be written with only the first letter in capital and the rest in small letters without abbreviation.
• Any abbreviation used in the abstract should be written open and the abbreviation in parentheses.
• The purpose of the paper and methods applied should be explained in brief, the findings should be summarized together with sufficient statistical details and the conclusion should be stated within the framework of the findings presented.
• All patient details and data must be anonymized.
• The abstract title, author(s) or names of institutions are not to be included in the abstract text.

 

Withdrawing a Submission

Withdrawals must be received in writing to info@worldallergy.org no later than Friday, 31 March, 2023.

 

Notification

It is anticipated that notifications of acceptance/rejection will be sent in March 2023. All communications will be sent to the person identified as the Presenting Author of the submission.

 

Attendance is Required

Accepted abstracts must have a presenter register and attend the WAO Symposium to present their abstract(s), and should plan to attend from 18-20 May 2023, as poster presentation dates are subject to change.

It is not mandatory that the first author be pre-registered and present; the presenter may be any of the contributing authors or a colleague. The presenting author or colleague must plan to attend the Symposium in full as poster presentation assignments will not be rescheduled in order to accommodate personal travel plans. Please do not submit an abstract unless you are prepared to travel to the Symposium to present your research.
