Mission Statement: Our mission is 1) to develop our mutidisciplinary clinical and research activities in the hospital, with the support of the Medical director and of the Dean of Pharmacy school, both members of the Centre ; 2) to provide excellent education and training for young or senior allergists, to contribute to the development of this recently recognized medical specialty in France, and 3) to
accelerate and extend our research programs via active national and international collaborations, in particular in severe asthma, perioperative anaphylaxis and DRESS.
Description: The Bichat University Hospital Allergology Centre described herein takes advantage of several clinical multidisciplinary Units (allergology, asthma, dermatology, anaesthesiology, ophtlamology), directed by physicians with nationally-recognized clinical experience, a clinical immunology laboratory dedicated to the diagnosis of allergy and several research units, leading to the largest centre for allergic diseases in adults in the North of France. All members of the Centre are affiliated to the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM) and coordinate basic and/or clinical research on allergic diseases. They are also all involved in education and training programs for undergraduate medical students, allergists, scientists and patients. They also contribute to numerous continuing education programs in France. The Governance includes clinicians, biologists and researchers, all strongly involved in allergic diseases.
