Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: 22 June 2025

The Mongolian Society of Allergology (MSA) held a World Allergy Training School (WATS) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on 20 and 21 June 2025

WATS is part of the World Allergy Organization’s (WAO) Emerging Societies Program (ESP), with the objective to develop learning communities appropriate to a specific regional context while strengthening existing knowledge and skills for treating all allergic diseases. The WATS are made possible through the support of WAO and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI).

The international WATS faculty included allergy experts from the United States, Singapore, and Mongolia. Dr. James L. Sublett (United States), Dr. Lydia Wong (Singapore), and Dr. Sami L. Bahna (United States) participated in this WATS alongside the local organizers from the MSA, Prof. Sonomjamts Munkhbayarlakh (Mongolia), Logii Narantsetseg (Mongolia), and Batmunkh Bayar-Ulzii (Mongolia).

About 40 individuals attended the WATS over the course of two, half-days of programming. The program included a mix of lectures on a variety of topics (Food allergy, anaphylaxis, drug allergy, etc) and hands-on workshops.
